The National Society of Black Engineers- SDCC Chapter, Mesa Robotics Organization, and Pacific Nautilus are building a new team to enter the 12th Annual International Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Competition(AUVSI) being held at the Navy's TRANSDEC Facility in Point Loma. In 2008 our team finished 9th out of 27 teams. Currently we are redesigning, testing, and refining our Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) concept for the 2009 competition. This year's project entails redesigning, testing, and improving on our concepts and designs as well as adding more practical functionality. We are also trying some innovative new solutions and hull designs.
